A very strong traffic spike was detected in Victoria and Sooke on Vancouver Island at 10:38 AM PDT on March 12. The detection pattern matches the well-documented "Rumbles" that Victoria experiences from EA-18G Growler operations at NAS Whidbey Island, roughly 50 km across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Military activity was elevated at the time: the Arctic Edge 2026 exercise (Feb 23–Mar 13) was in its final days, Operation Epic Fury had Growlers deployed from the USS Abraham Lincoln, and the Navy had suspended public Growler flight schedule disclosures on March 6 citing operational security. A similar but weaker detection occurred at this location on February 17.
