A moderate traffic spike was detected in Miami at 12:30 AM EDT on March 17. No SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral occurred that night. The next Florida launch (Starlink 10-46) was not until 9:27 AM the following morning. Homestead Air Reserve Base, 25 miles south of Miami, hosts F-16s that serve as the primary NORAD scramble asset for South Florida, frequently intercepting aircraft that violate the Mar-a-Lago Temporary Flight Restriction. An F-16 scramble producing a sonic boom over Miami-Dade County is the most likely explanation.
