Dozens of residents across the Houston metro reported a loud boom that shook homes on the afternoon of March 21, with reports spanning from Katy and Cypress to Pearland and as far as Port Aransas, over 200 miles away. At least one witness near League City reported seeing a fireball streaking from south to north. No SpaceX launch, industrial explosion, or military activity was reported that day. The wide geographic spread and fireball sighting point to a meteor or bolide, consistent with an unusually active month for fireballs across the US.
