A traffic spike was detected near the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula at mid-morning on March 23. No SpaceX launch occurred that day, and the location is well south of Vandenberg's typical boom propagation range. The source is unknown. Possible explanations include a meteor (Q1 2026 saw an unusually active stretch of bolide events across North America) or a military or naval exercise in the Pacific off Baja California Sur.
