Sonic Booms near Southern California
Southern California occasionally experiences sonic booms from Vandenberg launches when booster return trajectories pass over the Los Angeles basin and Inland Empire. Military aircraft from Edwards Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Point Mugu can also produce sonic booms in the region. The dense population makes these events highly detectable in web traffic.
